You have just immigrated to Canada, looking for a new life or to flee war or persecution in your home country. You arrived alone, without close family or friends for you
to help. Either way, you have to adjust to life in a society that is new and foreign to you. There are good days. There are also has less good ones. Sometimes you even wonder why you came. It's normal. Over time, the good days will no doubt increase and you will begin to feel a bit at home.
This book will give you ideas to help you achieve the most as soon as possible in these better days. We offer twenty and a means of knowing these better days from the experience of people like you. Each chapter begins with a quote from a newcomer, which introduces a problem commonly encountered by those learning to live in a new culture. It ends with some advice or exercises that will help you solve certain problems and maintain your physical and mental balance.
